Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to exercise your rights.

Last updated: 5 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data Cloud Canopy ("we", "us") collects, why, and what rights you have. It covers this website and the hosting, domain and development services we provide.

Who we are

Cloud Canopy is a UK-based web hosting reseller and software development studio. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights below, contact sales@cloudcanopy.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details — when you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, and anything you write in your message, so we can reply.
  • Account & billing data — if you buy a service, our hosting platform partner (20i) processes the name, address, contact and payment details needed to provide and bill for it.
  • Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) kept for security and troubleshooting.
  • Free tools — content you submit to our free tools (e.g. a URL or code) is sent to our processors to produce a result and is not stored by us for longer than the request needs.

Why we use it & our lawful basis

  • To answer enquiries and provide the services you ask for — performance of a contract and legitimate interests.
  • To secure our systems and prevent abuse — legitimate interests.
  • To meet accounting and legal obligations — legal obligation.

Sharing & processors

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the processors that help us run the service, including our hosting infrastructure partner (20i / stackcp.com), our live-chat provider (Tawk.to), Google (Gemini API, for the AI features in our free tools), and payment providers used at checkout. Each acts under contract and on our instructions.

Retention

Enquiry emails are kept while there is an active conversation and for a reasonable period after. Billing records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires (currently 6 years). Server logs are rotated on a short cycle.

International transfers

Some processors (e.g. Google) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or provide it in a portable format. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To make a request, email sales@cloudcanopy.co.uk.

Cookies

This site uses only what is needed to function and to load our live-chat widget. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
